I've been involved in our community since before I decided to run for City Council.
Mayor Cole hosted his Talk of the Town last week and provided a thoughtful and thorough discussion on each of the Bonds we'll see on our May 6 ballot.
Tune in at about 28 minutes to hear my perspectives on Pearland.
I appreciate the Chamber of Commerce for hosting such a professional and informative candidate forum.
Excited to get the campaign rolling!
Daggett for Pearland is back and ready to lead the TEAM!
Pearland, Texas – January 23 , 2023 – Jai Daggett, community volunteer, advocate, and small business owner, announced his candidacy for the Pearland City Council. Jai will compete for Pearland City Council, Position 3.
“I’m extremely proud to be a part of the fabric of the City of Pearland,” says Jai. “Pearland now faces challenges such traffic congestion, public safety and fiscal responsibility. These issues require immediate action and strong leadership.”
“My background as a small business owner, and as someone who has spent more than 23 years in the corporate sector, has given me the qualifications and skillset to take on these challenges and come up with innovative and comprehensive solutions. I am ready to lead Pearland in a positive direction and will fight to protect the quality of life for ALL our residents, including our families, our seniors, and our young people,” Jai continued.
Jai has been committed to giving back to the community that he loves and calls home by serving on the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone Board along with several other education, health and child welfare boards including: Southwest Charter Schools, The Christus Foundation, and Child Advocates. He’s worked with the local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in the aftermath of Hurricane IKE providing Point of Dispense support and resource distribution, and Pearland Comprehensive Planning Advisory Committee where he is tasked with providing community input on the growth trajectory for the 20 years for the Pearland community.
Jai has dedicated his free time to ensuring the success of his neighborhood’s annual National Night Out event, planning and organizing it for the past several years now. National Night Out is a national community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. He’s also a regular volunteer for the Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program in Alvin I.S.D. Watch D.O.G.S. is a nationally- recognized program that uses the positive influence of fathers and father-figures to be a presence in the schools and to be a positive and active role model for students at their school.
He is a member of the New Hope Church in Pearland and regularly volunteers his time with local boy and girl scouts. He coaches soccer and flag football for Shadow Creek Ranch. He has been married to Katie Daggett for 15 years and is the proud father of two children, Kaia and Jaison.
